Bay State Bam Terms of Service
1. The Membership Mindset (Agreement to Terms)
Welcome to the table. By accessing www.baystatebam.com and participating in our lessons, events, or digital community (our "Services"), you are agreeing to these Terms. If you don’t agree, we kindly ask that you sit this round out and refrain from using our Site.
2. Who Can Play (Eligibility)
To join our circle, you must be at least 18 years old or have the explicit permission of a parent or guardian. By using our Services, you’re telling us you meet these requirements.
3. Our Offerings
We are dedicated to the art of the game—providing instruction, curated social events, and educational content. While we strive for consistency, our "tiles" are always shifting; we reserve the right to change service descriptions or event availability without prior notice.
4. The Exchange (Booking & Payments)
Secure Transactions: We use trusted third-party partners (like Square, PayPal, or Eventbrite) to handle the heavy lifting of payments.
Data Privacy:Bay State Bamnever sees or stores your credit card digits. That’s between you and the processor.
5. Changing Your Mind (Cancellations & Refunds)
Mahjong is a game of strategy and timing. Because we curate specific venues and staffing for our events, we require the following:
5.1 General Events & Small Group Lessons (≤ 12 Players)
The 48-Hour Rule: Cancellations are fully refundable up to 48 hours before your scheduled start time.
Official Channels Only: You must cancel through our official scheduling system. We love a good Instagram DM, but they do not count as a formal cancellation.
Late Breaks: Cancellations within 48 hours of the event are non-refundable.
5.2 Grand Gatherings (13+ Participants)
10+ Days Notice: Full Refund.
5–9 Days Notice: 50% Refund.
Less than 5 Days: Non-refundable (as our instructors and materials are already locked in).
Final Headcount: Your final guest count is due 5 days prior. We can’t lower the fee if guests drop out last minute, but we’ll do our best to squeeze in late additions!
6. The "Wind & Rain" Policy (Inclement Weather)
We’re in New England, we get it- the weather can be as unpredictable as a blind pass.
Instructor Safety: If our instructors can’t safely reach the venue, we will reschedule.
Player Safety: If you feel unsafe traveling, we will transfer your payment to a future date at no extra charge.
Communication: We will notify you via email/text as soon as a weather-related decision is made.
7. Table Etiquette (User Conduct)
We believe in "Mahjong Diplomacy." When you are with us, you agree to:
Be honest and accurate in your bookings.
Treat instructors and fellow players with high-level respect.
Refrain from "borrowing" our proprietary teaching materials for your own commercial use.
Zero Tolerance: We reserve the right to ask anyone to leave the table (without a refund) if they are being abusive or disruptive.
8. Intellectual Property: Our "Winning Hand"
All logos, custom-designed instructional graphics, photography, and Bay State Bam branding are our exclusive property. Think of them as our private collection—you are welcome to enjoy them, but you cannot copy, sell, or distribute them without our written "Okay."
9. Disclaimer & Limits
"As-Is": We provide a premium experience, but we can’t guarantee the website will never have a glitch.
Liability: To the fullest extent of the law, Bay State Bam isn't responsible for indirect mishaps or "unlucky streaks" related to your use of our services.
10. Governing Law
Bay State Bam is proudly based in the United States. These terms are governed by the laws of the Massachusetts.
