What is Troop Mahjong?
Imagined by Kristel Powell of Stylin’ Brunette, Troop Mahjong is a nationwide network of Mahjong Instructors working together to celebrate every win (or non win!) at the table. Troop Members are eligible to earn Merit Stickers and extra special prizes at Troop Events monthly.
Bay State Bam is proud to be the home of Troop Mahjong’s Boston and Worcester combined chapter. Troop members can expect to be a part of monthly events at a minimum, and will be offered everything ranging from leagues to socials and open plays. Troop Mahjong Merit Stickers can only be awarded officially though chapter leaders, so be sure to see Brittany at upcoming events and ask about any merit sticker opportunities!
Troop Mahjong membership is being introduced this summer as a benefit of our Summer Soiree League! All players registered to participate in the league automatically will be enrolled as the first members of the troop. Unable to join the league this summer but want to join in the fun? Contact Brittany directly to get set up as a Troop Member.

Merit Book & Stickers
If you’ve ever felt like there should be a Girl Scout patch program for adults, or you loved the movie Troop Beverly Hills - membership in Troop Mahjong should be right up your alley. Troop Mahjong members receive their first merit book at their first Troop Event (or via contacting Brittany).
With Merit Stickers for everything from First Mahjong to No Jokers, Brought my Stanley to Mahj and “Played Like Trash” - you’re bound to earn a sticker every time you come to play with Bay State Bam. Stickers can be awarded at any event, but special themed stickers and prizes will be reserved for Troop Mahjong events only.
Worried about what happens when you fill that Merit Book? You get your Level 2 (or 3!) Merit book to keep working towards those little wins. With Kristel turning out new Merit Stickers seemingly daily, it is impossible not to find something new to celebrate!
