Cancellations and Ticket Policies
Look, we get it, life happens
Mahjong is the escape for many of us. Itโs not our philosophy to make things stressful. but we do have to keep the tiles shuffling around here! Cancellation policies are in place to keep the events moving smoothly, tables full, and the game as fun as possible for everyone. Bay State Bam reserves the right to waive or amend cancellation policies as needed, but generally speaking our guidelines for events and lessons are as follows below.
Private In Home Events
Due to the nature of Private Events, and the planning that is required in order to travel to a private location. prepare and provide resources and accommodations, a deposit of 50% of the eventโs total registration minus travel fees is required. This deposit is refundable within 2 weeks (14 days) of the event. Any cancellations or reschedules that occur within 14 days of the eventโs scheduled time are no longer refundable. The deposit is transferrable to a future date/event after this time.
Semi Private and Ticketed Events
Mahjong tables require a balance in multiples of four. As a result, cancellations for public events not only disrupt the careful planning done by Bay State Bam, but they potentially impact the ability for other guests to have a full Mahjong experience. As a result, ticketed event fees are non refundable, and in the event of a cancellation ticket prices can be transferred to a future event or class as schedule allows.
Bunkhouse X Bay State Bam Collaborative Events
In the event of cancellation within one week of a ticketed event, a refund will only be issued if the seat can be filled. The purchaser may offer their seat to a replacement, or request that Bay State Bam and Bunkhouse Creative advertise and attempt to sell the seat on their behalf. Refunds of any kind will not be issued within 48 hour of the event, regardless of if a replacement is found.
League Cancellation Policy
League gameplay is dependent on having as many full tables as possible for scoring and standings. As a result, all league registration is final. For leagues where attendance is required weekly or the registrant has selected a number of weeks they are committed to, they may opt to provide a substitute player. If a substitute player is provided, the original registrant assumes responsibility for the substationโs behavior and understands that their scores will contribute to their overall totals as applicable by the league setup.
